The negotiations between the Federal Government and organised labour over the issues in the power sector have again been postponed to Tuesday next week as the government intensifies efforts to resolve the crises with NUPENG. The negotiations have however been taken over by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Chief Anyim Pius Anyim after the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) expressed doubt at the capacity of the Ministry of Labour to drive the process that would resolve the issues in contention. The President General of the Trade Union Congress (TUC), Comrade Peter Esele briefing newsmen after the closed door meeting at the Office of the SGF said talks are still ongoing with both sides misinformed about the demands of the other side.

ABUJA— Capital Oil and Gas Industry Ltd, owned by Mr. Ifeanyi Uba and three other companies are to account for a whooping N11. 4 billion for subsidy payments received without evidence of fuel supply. The four companies are on the list of indicted oil marketing companies that have been recommended for criminal investigation by the Aig Imoukhuede Presidential Committee on Verification and Reconciliation of Fuel Subsidy Payments. There are now 25 companies in that category.
