Triple Fun grooms children for stage


Notable figures in the art and entertainment sector joined many pupils that gathered for the grand finale of the Triple Fun Club 2011 Literary, Oratory, and Leadership Week, which was recently held in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Among them were the Chief Executive Officer of the African Academy Movie Awards, Peace Anyiam-Osigwe, and the founder of Abuja Literary Forum, Emma Sheu.

With the theme Ambassadors for Excellence, the workshop too the children through effective communication (oral and written) and leadership skills, drawing attention to children’s innate skills and the need to harness them for their overall development.

They also performed in various competitive categories. While they all received gifts, winners such as Chiamaka Nwachukwu, Sorbari Lahben; second and third runners-up were Ekemini Udom and Gift Ahaneku, Chinelo Meniru and Sorbari Lahben received prizes. Anyiam-Osigwe, who was the guest speaker, stressed the need for children and teenagers to enjoy their childhood and never be in a hurry to become adults since adulthood would naturally come.

She also tasked children and teenagers to spend more time developing values that would work for them as against those that would hamper their prospects as future leaders, and to justify their parents’ investment in them.

Also at the event were stakeholders such as Analiefo Nzegwu and Dr. Femi Olaleye, who commended the founder of Triple Fun, Mr. Chidi Ononye, for his vision and interest in grooming the young. - Nigerian news, entertainment news, nollywood, naija, Nigeria, West Africa
