The organizers of the event Tanzania Sisi Nyumbani (TSN), have expressed hope that the event will help raise the profile of the country’s sporting sector in the coming days. Dennis Ssebo, an official of TSN, confirmed a 25-man squad for the game and also confirmed their arrival date has been confirmed for August 21.
Asides the football game, the legends are also expected to visit high profile tourist sites, especially the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and Mount Kilimanjaro. The organizers have also hinted that the overall goal will be to boost the tourism profile of Tanzania as well as leverage the visit of some of football’s greatest luminaries in a bid to stimulate football talent development in the country.
Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) President Jamal Malinzi has also hinted that the country’s football administrators will be aiming to explore the possibilities of fostering strategic relationships with clubs in Spain to aid the player development in the country. ‘This will not just be an International friendly game, but also the opportunity for us to discuss with clubs in Spain so that they can take our young players to their academies, we hope something good will come at the end.’ he said.
