Pal Zileri promotes its former intern to CEO

News » Lifestyle

20th June 2014

For more than 40 years, Italian label Pal Zileri has been one of the most famous tailoring companies in the world. So it is no wonder that when the Qatari investment fund Mayhoola - having already snapped up the another Italian fashion label,Valentino, in 2012 - was looking for a menswear label to add to its portfolio, that Pal Zileri should have been one of its first acquisitions.

Having bought the company in February this year, today the new management has announced its first hirings. The new CEO is Paolo Roviera, who joins from Ermenegildo Zegna - although he is no stranger to Pal Zileri having interned there while he was studying for his Masters more than 15 years ago. His first task will be to relaunch the brand across all its international markets, taking it to the next level of luxury "Made In Italy" menswear.

Roviera will be joined there by Stefano Gaudioso as general merchandising manager, who previously worked for the luxury Italian menswear label Corneliani. Further appointments are expected to be made in the near future - and we're already eager to see what they've got in store.
