The venue was Umuahia Township Stadium, Umuahia, Abia State. The event was Ochendo Youth Empowerment Concert.

And in what will remain in the minds of all those who attended the concert  it was a clash of giants in the Nigerian music scene as the energetic P Square were joined by fellow super stars such as Flavour, J Martins, Terry G, Morachi, Deejays Waxy and Jimmy Jatt to thrill their fans at the concert tagged: Abia Alive concert.

The Umuahia Township Stadium was thrown open as a mammoth crowd of music enthusiasits and supporters of the Ochendo Youth Foundation rushed to clinch seats ahead of the concert.

According to the organisers of the event, the aim was to engage the youth meaningfully and keep them away from unwholesome behaviour under an umbrella of entertainment and relaxation.

The show lived up to its billing as the day was a memorable one for both the artistes and their fans.

In an interview after the show the duo of P Square shared their excitement at the acceptance accorded to them by the government and people of Abia State.

“We are happy to be surrounded by a huge number of fans who have shown us love over the years. It was a moment we will live to remember. Abia State is a homely state,” they said.

In his response, Abia  State Governor, Theodore Orji, said “its no longer business as usual. Youths of Abia have to set the pace for other youths in Nigeria; that’s our commitment”.

It was also an avenue for the display of creativity by 2flame, a fast rising entertainment outfit, led by CEO Don Lulu as they proved their mettle as efficient show promoters.

The event according to the organisers would be periodic even as the state unfolds more plans for capacity building.

Many applauded the efforts, saying it has opened the state to more possibilities as the next business and tourism destination in Nigeria and beyond.

The event was witnessed by top politicians, captains of industries and members of the state executive council including Honourable Kingsley Megwara, Emma Madubuko, Chikamnayo and Akujobi, commissioners for information and youth respectively, Cosmos Ndukwe, Chief of Staff, Onyi Nwama, Permanent Secretary,Youth and Ugo Emezue, Chief Press Secretary to the governor among other dignitaries.
