In order to further boost the trade relationship between Nigeria and Britain, Adeyemi Adefulu, president of the Nigerian-British Chamber of Commerce (NBCC), is leading business executives on a-five-day trade mission to the UK betweenJune 9 and 13, 2014.

This was contained in a press statement released recently by the Chamber outlining the activities it hopes to embark on during the trade mission.

According to Adefulu, “the major objective of the NBCC is the promotion of trade and investment between Nigeria and Britain. Today, there are about 400 corporate members who operate in all sectors of the Nigerian economy. This ranges from virtually the giant manufacturing and commercial enterprises in Nigeria, through medium size companies to small-scale businesses including service companies and professional practising firms interested in or involved with Nigerian-British business activities.”

A key feature of this event will be the attendance of delegates at the International Festival for Business in Liverpool (IFB) and “Africa Rising” conference on June 12, 2014. The IFB is being staged for the first time in the UK and supported by the British government and key business organisations to encourage international trade and investment. The “Africa Rising” is a three-day conference within the Festival focused on Africa, and delegates will participate onJune 12, when there will be keynote presentations from invited Nigerian speakers.

Delegates to the mission will have an opportunity of a visit to the Cereals Event in Cambridgeshire and interact with selected research and training organisations. There will also be the “Investing in Nigeria” conference in London, business-to-business sessions with members of the London and Liverpool Chambers of Commerce as well as visits to the Lord Mayor of London and the Nigeria High Commission.
