The Nasarawa State Government  has ordered the immediate dissolution of  all militia groups operating in the state.
This was made known in a communiqué at the end of a peace summit at Government House in Lafia yesterday.

The summit also resolved that government should detail appropriate security agencies across the state to apprehend and prosecute all persons or group of persons found prophesying the Ombaste cult group.

Also, to ensure permanent peace in the state, the summit called for  a visible role for the traditional rulers in the state to compliment government efforts hitherto suggesting that an executive bill be sent to the state assembly for enactment in order to have their roles codified.
However, despite the effort of the state government to find solution to the series of crises in the state, the peace summit was largely boycotted by major stakeholders of the People Democratic Party (PDP).

Virually all the PDP members in the state assembly and the National Assembly boycotted the event.

Meanwhile, while the security summit was ongoing, some suspected  Fulani  mercenaries were reported to have invaded two  Eggon communities  in Agbolagu, Kampani and Fadama-Bona, all in Nasarawa-Eggon Local Government Area of the state, killing about 10 people and burning down houses.

It was  gathered that the incident left many killed while several injured.
Confirming the invasion of the villages to THISDAY on phone, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Ismaila Numan, said the police is still investigating the matter.
