Fayose Kicks as Fayemi Appoints Caretaker Chairmen for 35 New Councils

Despite criticisms from the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), the Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi, monday appointed new set of  caretaker chairmen  for the 16 existing local government areas and the newly created local council development areas (LCDAs) in the state.

Fayemi had last week signed the LCDAs bill into law, saying the policy is meant to bring development to the doorstep of the rural masses.

However, the Governor-elect, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, had kicked against the policy, saying it was meant to derail the incoming government.

But according to a statement issued yesterday by Fayemi’s Chief Press Secretary, Yinka Oyebode, the names of  the appointees are Oye LCDA, Tope Longe; Ifeloju LCDA, Hon Olumide Adeyanju; Ifesowapo LCDA, Hon Adeeye Johnson;  Efon LCDA, Mr. Dipo Ogunleye.
Others are Ilejemeje LCDA, Hon Tope Ogunleye; Ajoni LCDA, Mr. Aribasoye Adeoye; Ero LCDA, Hon Akin Alebiosu; Ifedara LCDA, Sina Ogunleye; Ekiti West LCDA; Kareem Agunbiade; Ise/Orun LCDA, Ayodeji Ajayi; Emure LCDA, Hon Febisola Adewale; Isokan LCDA, Olumide Fadipe; Irewolede LCDA, Hon Ojo Atibioke,

Irede LCDA, Remi Balogun; Ijero LCDA, Dao Ajai; Irepodun/Ifelodun LCDA, Azees Awolokun; Ikere West LCDA, Gbenga Omole; Ikere LCDA, Femi Ayodele; Ido/Osi LCDA, Rotimi Afolabi; Araromi LCDA, Bayo Akerele; Gbonyin LCDA among others.

The statement said they would be sworn in today by the governor.
However,  Fayemi has been told to stop giving false hope to members of his political party, instead he should chart a new course on what to do after vacating office in October this year.

This was in apparent reference to statement credited to Fayemi when he appeared on the state radio programme "Gomina Nsalaye" that his party has discovered how the INEC rigged the June 21 governorship poll for the PDP.
The governor-elect,  who reacted through his spokesman, Mr. Idowu Adelusi, said Fayemi was still living in fool’s paradise, urging him to free himself from defeat shock and face the reality.

According to a statement issued by Adelusi and made available to the press in Ado Ekiti yesterday, he said since Fayemi's party has gone to challenge the election results at the tribunal,

Fayemi should wait for outcome of their petition.
Fayose said: "The incoming PDP government will expose the hypocrisy of the Fayemi’s administration and through that Nigerians will know that APC is not a party to be tolerated."

He reiterated that Fayemi did not mean well for the incoming administration, asking "even as the outgoing governor has less than three months to go, why did he have to create new local councils, why
did he  embark on mass recruitment of people into the state civil service and backdating the appointments to 2013,  why arbitrary award of contracts?

"All these actions taken would definitely be reversed because they are not known to law. Ekiti people who voted for the return of Fayose have the belief that he would meet their needs."
