Former Governor of Sokoto State, Alhaji Attahiru Bafarawa, yesterday declared war on the incumbent state Governor, Aliyu Wamakko, saying the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would mobilise youths as well as students to ensure the defeat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2015.

Addressing hundreds of students during the presentation of Students Guide on Politics in Sokoto, Bafarawa said change was inevitable in the state in 2015.

He emphasised that Wamakko's days are numbered as PDP would do whatever it takes to establish the government in 2015.

According to him, wresting power from Wamakko was akin to a jihad and as such, the PDP was adequately prepared for the battle ahead.
The former governor stated that the PDP leadership was united and would intensify its mobilisation of youths and students to defeat the APC.

"We are now united and working with unity of purpose to achieve our goals. We are ready to mobilise our students and youths in the state to wrest power from the APC.

"This is a jihad and we are adequately prepared and would fight to the last to establish a PDP government in the state in 2015,"Bafarawa averred.

The former governor decried the neglect of education by the state government, which failed to pay the registration of its students studying in Usmanu Danfodio University, Sokoto.

He assured the students that PDP would ensure free education at all levels, if voted into power next year.

Bafarawa therefore enjoined the students to study hard in order to excel in their studies, saying no state could develop without education.
It was also reported that the former governor had last month settled the registration fees of 153 newly admitted students of Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto, with N5.2 million.
