Arrest: Police Nab 3 With Stolen Cars In Kaduna

Three suspected car thieves were yesterday apprehended by the men of the police force in Kaduna, with three exotic cars recovered from them.

The cars recovered are a Peugeot 406 with registration number Katsina AA 247 MTZ and two Honda cars.

LEADERSHIP correspondent witnessed the arrest of one of the suspects at the main campus of the Kaduna Polytechnic in Tudun Wada area of the state, who was arrested with the Peugeot 406 which he abandoned when he was been pursued before he was eventually apprehended by the youths of the area and handed over to the police.

One Aliyu Mohammed, a graduate of the Nigeria Military School, who is also an intelligent officer, who helped in the arrest of the suspect, told LEADERSHIP that “I came to Kaduna Polytechnic to drop my father’s wife when I saw the driver of a vehicle pointing to the Peugeot 406 car and those around the area beckoned on me to help pursue the car, saying it was a stolen car.

“I started pursuing the car with my own car and when the driver got to a point within the polytechnic and discovered that the vehicle could not move any further, he abandoned it and took to his heels. I also abandoned mine and pursued him. He stopped a motorcycle and mounted it to escape and I did same and requested other people’s assistance, before he was eventually apprehended at Ungwa Sanusi in Tudun Wada area of Kaduna South and handed over to the police” he narrated.

When contacted, the public relations officer of the state police command, SP Aminu Lawan confirmed the arrest of the first suspect, adding that two other accomplices had also been arrested and were being interrogated.
