St Saviour's School Ikoyi, is a British Curriculum School of approximately 320 children. The school caters for children from Foundation 2 ( Reception) to Year 6 and delivers the English National Curriculum as part of a thoroughly rounded education set in a Nigerian context.

Founded in 1951 by leading members of the Nigerian and British communities in Lagos, it is a Christian school in the Anglican tradition, accepting children of all beliefs who share our core values. A not-for-profit school, it is led by the Head Teacher empowered by the Board of Management and guided by the Board of Trustees, all of whom are entirely committed to the wellbeing of the school. Currently 60% of the children in the school are Nigerian, the remaining 40% being from 20 other nationalities.

The school is a member of the Association of International School Educators of Nigeria (AISEN) and the Independent Association of Preparatory Schools (IAPS). Click on the following links to access our recent IAPS Complete Inspection Report and IAPS Summarised Inspection Report.

The school is situated on a very attractive site on Ikoyi island in Lagos. The classrooms are well appointed and resourced within spacious, landscaped grounds that offer the children both indoor and outdoor learning and playing areas. The school has a new purpose-built Library, two ICT Labs, new extensive playing fields on land reclaimed from the lagoon, IWBs in every classroom, and a new, recently commissioned swimming pool.

St Saviour's School Ikoyi is a two-form entry school with a maximum class size of 23. The first year is the Foundation 2 (Reception class) to which children can be admitted if they have reached the age of 4 years on or before 31st August in the entry year.

As demand for places at St Saviour's School, Ikoyi is always high, and in order to maintain the multinational character of the school, the Board of Trustees has laid down that admissions to the school will have an over-riding objective of achieving a Nigerian to non-Nigerian ratio of 60:40.

Parents may register their children for admissions to the school up to two years prior to their fourth birthday. Each child is assigned a category as follows:

St Saviour's School, Ikoyi, provides a carefully planned and structured teaching programme that takes full account of the English National Curriculum. We expect children to study hard to achieve their full potential and encourage them to develop a positive attitude towards their work.

A carefully structured core curriculum of English, Mathematics, Science and ICT is supplemented by the study of History, Geography, Art, PE, RE, PSCHE, Music and French. Careful cognisance is taken of our Nigerian setting. These are further enhanced by a full programme of extra-curricular Clubs.

We encourage children to develop a sense of personal and social responsibility through a challenging and stimulating personal and social education programme. We help children to develop cultural awareness through community involvement. We provide them with opportunity to take part in school activities such as the annual Christmas performance and end of year performance, as well as charity events.

In addition, we monitor the progress of the children to ensure that they receive help when they find work difficult, and are challenged to improve their performance. excel always..

At St Saviour's School, Ikoyi, children participate in all of the assessment requirements of the English National Curriculum, taking part in all NCT examinations as well as 11+ examinations for independent schools. Our pupils go on to attend many public schools in the UK such as Wycombe Abbey, St Mary's Hall (Stoneyhurst), Millfield and Cheltenham Ladies - to name just a few.

As a non-selective school we treat all children as individuals and look to add value to each pupil. We have included a summary of our NCT results for 2007 - 2009 below.
