The project is a direct response to the Nigerian Army’s desire to promote investments driven by private sector participation in the development and operation of Nigerian Army welfare facilities. To endorse its commitment and willingness to support the current project, the Nigerian Army has entered into a twenty four (24) years lease agreement, granting a concession right to Woobs Resources Limited , to construct, manage and operate a real estate project in the nature of an Ultra Modern Market at the Nigerian Army, 9 Brigade Military Cantonment, Ikeja Lagos facing Agege Motor Road by Bolade Bus stop Oshodi, on a Build, Operate and Transfer basis.

The Arena shopping complex is a people’s project designed to be an all comers all winners package for all participants. Of the big pluses is the urban renewal factor, shops for all and the shoppers “super” market in a safe, hygienic and organized environment.


The Arena shopping complex is strategically located at the Oshodi boundary of the ikeja Military Cantonment with direct access to the dual carriage Agege Motor Road and out flowing to the present Bolade Oshodi market. The commissioning of the Arena has eased and decongested Oshodi market and traffic around Oshodi thereby making accessibility to The Arena shopping complex a smooth and easy ride from the Island, Surulere Mushin, Yaba, Festac and the environs. The locational advantage of the site is unparalleled due to its central disposition and accessibility from all quarters of the Lagos metropolis.

The Arena would be the first of its kind in the West African sub-region where advance technology is seamlessly applied to enhance efficiency, effectiveness and prudence. The project is a product of the Nigerian Army and Woobs Resources Ltd. Aimed at providing the ideal shoppers market and a market even for the under privileged and economically disadvantaged citizens of our beloved country.


The Arena offers over 3,000 stalls in a select combination of lock-up, open and warehouse structure some of which are unsuited. Support facilities for operational balance in the market include 7 dedicated restaurants, parking for 1016 vehicles including 32 trailer parking bays under covered loading and off-loading bays at the flanges of the premises to ease management of cattle and bulk goods. Banking facilities, a facility management office all add up to ensuring an all encompassing market environment not to mention the state of the art 216 public toilets and 72 showers evenly disturbed in 7 clusters around the market.


The Arena shopping has a dedicated fire service station to compliment the fire hydrants spread all over, including a police post, abattoir, incinerator and a modern refuse disposal system. The “Nigerian Factor” of epileptic electrical power and water shortage have been mitigated by the provision of dedicated transformers, Electric Generators, Portable water boreholes and capacity water storage facility.

Flood and wastewater management received the best consideration a project of this magnitude deserves. Through well designed roads, sidewalks, channels and drainages the Arena is expected to thrive effectively even under wet conditions considering that the entire market is tarred and paved leaving just enough “green” in areas pedestrian and vehicular traffic is not envisaged to enhance the general outlook of the market.
An automatic vehicular ticketing system should provide an effective traffic management system into and out of the market. The incorporation of Close Circuit Television System would enhance general monitoring and security.

Woobs resources is a wholly indigenous multidisciplinary firm offering consultancy services in the building industry. Under A BOT arrangement with the Nigerian army, Woobs Resources Limited designed built and are managing the Arena shopping complex, situated at Bolade Oshodi Agege motor road, Lagos, Nigeria.
